Due to the distances involved, these are longer days, but they give you the opportunity to explore places that are otherwise difficult to reach without changing accommodation.

Possible destinations include Veliko Tarnovo, the medieval capital of Bulgaria, where you can visit Tsarevets – the historic hill of the Bulgarian kings. Other options include the Sveshtari Thracian Tomb, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its unique ancient decoration, often combined with a visit to Demir Baba Tekke, a 16th-century Alevi sanctuary with a strong spiritual atmosphere.

You can also visit the Ivanovo Rock Monasteries, another UNESCO site, famous for their medieval frescoes carved into the rocks above the Rusenski Lom River.
